Profile

Thomas Damberger completed a master’s degree in pedagogy and philosophy and received his doctorate in 2012 from the Technical University of Darmstadt (title of the dissertation: “Improving people! On the symptoms of pedagogy of ontological homelessness”). His habilitation thesis, which he defended at the Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg in 2019, deals with different dimensions of the relationship between education and digitization.

In 2017 he was a visiting professor at the Institute for Educational Sciences at the University of Vienna and from 2016-2018 substitute professor for new media in teaching and learning contexts at Goethe University Frankfurt. From 10/2018 – 03/2019 he was professor for media education, didactics & philosophy at the Private University of Education Linz. Since 04/2019 he has been substitute professor for general educational sciences at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg.
